No ChuckIt tonight, work around the weather, T-shirts

With all of the unknowns, such road conditions and track conditions I'm going to cancel the workout tonight. About the time we head out tonight for the workout it will start icing up and I would prefer that we not have anyone bite it. Experience has also told me that the track will probably not be very runnable not mention the hill we use for workouts.

These are always hard situations when you're training for an event and mother nature decides to put her hand in and create chaos. This is where being flexible with your running comes in handy. What I would do is go out for an easy 20-30m minute run today and move your hard workout to Thursday or Friday when the weather will be cooperating. For those who are pacing I would try run 2-3 miles at your pacing pace to get a feel for it. For that matter for those that are tracing this weekend the same thing here would be good.

I got the t-shirts on Saturday morning after most of you had finished the run. Those of you pacing try to see me on Saturday morning to pick up a shirt. It would be nice if someone could take a few to the meeting on Saturday to get them to those that don't have one.

Have a great Thanksgiving!!

Mid Week, back to the old roster, New york

After trying to be high tech with the community and all I've decided to go old school and bring back the old roster. Simply put no one really uses the community section of the old site so I've gone back to the old reliable. That being said and as we get to the new year if you could please go here http://runningnw.com/index.php/community/roster-input and enter your race event plans for the next few months that would be grand. You can see the results of those who have enter their info here http://runningnw.com/index.php/community/chuckit-roster I still have some tinkering to do on it but from you end it's good as gold. When I'm done with it you'll be able to search by event and name.  I'll also use it like I did in the past where you'll be able use your e-mail address and access your specific workout for the mid week. More to come.

The turnout for the Chuckit / Super Jock n Jill sale was sparse but a few souls made it out and took advantage of the extra discount savings they provided, thanks for coming.

There was some good running in New York over the weekend. Great Job to you all. Nice very Nice.

Important Updates

 SUNDAY SALE

ChuckIt / Super Jock n Jill sale on Sunday the 7th from 5:30 to 6:30.

This Sunday Super Jock n Jill will close at 5:30 and open until 6:30 for Chuckit members. You'll receive 15% off regular merchandise and a larger discount on sale merchandise. It's good time to stock up for winter running and receive a great deal on sale merchandise as it's mostly summer gear. As it only last an hour there won't be much time for fitting so have an idea of what sizes you might need. You can exchange later on if needed. The Staff is staying longer to accommodate us so let's let them get home after a long day.

They will also be proving food and snacks, get there early before Steve eats it all ;)

 SATURDAY MORNING RUNS

Our last Saturday at Madison Park will be the 13th, so mark that down. We'll return to Super Jock n Jill for our Saturday morning runs on the 20th.

PACING

I've had to shuffle the pacing roster a bit and we still have some openings. This is your last chance if you're interested, the open spots are (1) 2:45 half marathon pace, (1) 4:45 marathon, (3) 3:10 marathon pace. You'll need to be able to run 6-7 miles at these paces. If I don't hear from anyone by Monday I'll go outside of the group to fill them.

WATER STOP DONATIONS

I will have the money jug out that the Saturday runs for donations to help fund our water stop. Glen already donates enough of his time to this so let's help him out with providing power for the music and heat, hot coffee and snacks. Thanks.

Mid Week, pacing, t-shirts, New York

Training for Seattle is winding down and training for other events is cranking up. Tonight we'll get a good test of your fitness with the 2 mi TT, for those that have run a big race recently running this as a tempo run would be fine. Those of you who ran early last month this would be a good test to find out where you are fitness wise. Should be a glorious next couple of nights for it.

Our Pacing team for Seattle is about set. We do still have a couple of spots open still. we need 2 people who can run 7:15 pace for 6-7miles and two people who can run 11min + for the same. If you can help us with that the only requirements are that you can run the pace and that you help out at the pacer booth at the Seattle Marathon expo. If you can help out let me know chuck@runchuckit.com

I've ordered long sleeve t-shirts for the group. I went with what Brooks calls Bright Green. I should have those shortly and will get them screened to hand out to everyone. As always a $5 donation would be appreciated to help pay for them. http://runchuckit.com/t-donation.htm

We have a pretty good size group of members heading for New York this week for the Marathon.  Good luck to you all. Be smart and have a great race!!
