Mid week and Happy New Year

I want to wish all of you a happy and great next coming year and decade. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help you with your running and wish you more success over the next year.

Chuckit is heading into it's 11th year and without you it wouldn't have made it. Thank You.

Thanks to those that have offered to volunteer Friday at the Resolution Run. I still need more people though. So far I've gotten 7 but would like to have about 20, if you can help let me know and I'll send you the information you'll need.

Again Happy New Year.

Mid Week

Good to see people adding groups in the community for events next year. Looks like Eugene is the winner so far with about 15 people planning to run there. Boston looks pretty good as well. Have been working on a new roster for the new year and will have that up soon.

If you're planning to training with us and running a spring marathon, seems like that might be a ways out there but it will be here before you know it so you better get your groove on and start getting the work in.

We'll be meeting as usual the next couple of weeks so plan to attend if you're around.

I should have the Jackets and Vest back tonight although the person screening notice that a (1) men's large vest and a (1)women's large jacket had a defect in them and I'm getting them replaced so those will be held up a few days, but will get them finished ASAP.

The Resolution 5k and trip n dip is planned for new years day and as always and they'll be needing volunteers and as I have in the past I've offered to help drum up some volunteers. If you can help out let me know and I'll give you information and where your help will be needed. If we could get 20 people that would be nice.

If I don't see you have a great rest of the holidays.

Help Needed

I've been contacted by the 12K's  of Christmas and they need a few more volunteers for the race this week end if you can help out -

For them, they can give 'em a comp entry into the Reso Run as well as an event shirt (pretty cool...long-sleeve red).

Mid Week

Nice job to those that ran this weekend in Cal and Vegas, There were some really nice time gathered by you all, outstanding. Posted below.

Now that we're pretty much done for the year Marathon and half wise it's time to start planning for next year. So heading into Chuckit's 11th year so far it looks like Napa will be a popular venue along with Eugene and of course Boston. Please put yourself in one of the community groups on the web site and feel free to start a group if there isn't one already set up.

Those of you training for the above events events it's time to get on the ball. With the holidays coming it's sometimes hard to find motivation but often it's the work you do now that will determine how you'll fare come race time. You're building a base that will allow you to do more with the training that's coming down the line and those are the workouts that make you faster. So even though it's dark and raining and cold so as they say "you gotta git er done"

For my part, I went through the roster and did some major damage, clearing out all those with out future races / goals posted including all of the those ran Seattle and will bringinig it back on line soon. I want to expand it a bit more this time around so keep an eye for it.

Also with this being the end of a big training / racing period many of you are up for membership renewal. If you could take care of this sooner rather then later I would appreciate it as you can imagine with many people coming and going it get's a bit confusing. Also I must admit that I'm in a bit of bind as I was using a nice little data base that I made (probably a bad idea) the last few years to keep track of everyone and last month it became corrupt and I can't use it so... I don't have your membership info, I do have your applications and I can go through those but if you could help me out that would be great since over 10 years I have quite a few of them. Those who paid on-line I can also get.

Mid Week, Seattle mararthon

Got to make this quick or this won't make it out today.

Well another Seattle Marathon has come and gone, the weather was just about perfect. Congrats to those that ran, paced and helped out at the water stop. I've posted results that I could find on the site as well as a photo gallery. Also there is a note from Glen at the bottom.

Coming up this weekend there are several members running in California and Vegas, good luck to you all.

The Jackets/vest are in let me know if you prefer to not have it screened with my logo. If you want it I'll get those out and we should have them back in a week probably sorry for the delay in getting them from Brooks it appears the holiday put the brakes on there.

The track is back in Action. I won't be posting workouts today as this being the 1st it's time for the tme trial and will be nice to run it on the track again. If you're running a marathon this weekend your workout is 3x 1 mile @ race pace and if you ran over the weekend (pacing doesn't count) come on out for a nice light recovery run.

From Glen - To all participants and supporters of the Chuckit Water Stop #14-

Once again, I’d like to thank everyone involved physically, financially, and spiritually (or any combination there of) for having another successful water stop this year. Everyone did a great job; even the weather cooperated!

Here's a text we received from one of the runners:  “Tell your buddies that your rest station was far the best one.  Was really nice to have the music at the top of the hill.”

We’re even famous for our endeavors. Checkout the 11/30/09 Seattle PI:

Please thank all of your family and friends that helped out, since I don't have email addresses for them.

Thanks again for making it another great year at the water stop!
